Anti-virus is Essential!
After a month hiatus on blogging, due to baby and family and work. I thought I'd catch up on what's going on. Thanks for being patient!
I recently spoke with a neighbor who was having problems with his laptop. He mentioned that it was running really slow. So I asked a few questions:
Q: Are you surfing the internet? A: Yes.
Q: Do you have anti-virus installed? A: I did, but I uninstalled it and now my laptop runs faster!
My final response: "That's a problem."
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to uninstall anti-virus if your computer is running slow. There is a famous line by several experts that I'd like to reiterate:
"Do not surf the internet without anti-virus." - Many Security Experts
Removing the anti-virus from your computer to make it run faster is digital suicide. Anti-virus programs is one of the first things a hacker or virus look for in a computer prior to hacking or infecting, respectively. If you don't have it installed, your computer will get infected or hacked.
As I mentioned in an earlier post about buying and setting up a computer, purchase and install an anti-virus package and don't use an admin account to surf the internet. Just by doing those two things can probably prevent 95% of the problems that can occur just by surfing the internet.
